Sharing Hope

Samuel Mwinamo Asena is a Kenyan pastor, author, course creator, Coach, and Consultant-Optimization.

He is passionate about helping individuals and institutions make the most of who they are and what they have through the courses, coaching, and Consulting programs he offers at Optimize Institute.

Samuel is also a minister at Redemption Sanctuary City Center, a ministry of Living Stones Churches International.

I am passionate about helping young people find a footing financially from a young age and thus I engage Creatives, Entrepreneurs, and academicians in this regard. He adds

Tell us about Optimize Institute

Optimize Institute was born out of my struggles as an individual with making the most of who I am and what I have. It is also a depiction of the philosophy I live by. As a believer, I am persuaded that God has saved us and deposited immense potential, ability, and grace upon us. Optimize Institute is meant to challenge people to discover develop and deploy that potential and like I said above I needed it first for myself then felt that others need it too which is how Optimize Institute started.

What inspires you?

I am also inspired by the desire to see people deploy all they have for the advancement of Kingdom purposes.

Did your upbringing in any way influence the work you are doing at Optimize Institute?

I was orphaned at an early age, my dad passing on when I was 2 and my mom when I was 8. I was brought up by my grandma who did a fantastic job with everything she had.

However, I missed out on the mentorship of a man in my life and it had a huge impact on me growing up. I was timid, laid back, and waiting for things to fall into place.

This led me to spend a significant amount of time without work after college since I didn't know how to seek out opportunities for myself.

It is later that I understood that I am responsible for the direction of my life and have everything I need to function.

Optimize Institute is an attempt to help other people like me to know how to navigate and build a great life for themselves and others who look up to them and need their help.

What impact has Optimize Institute had on the people who go through it?

Every person who has gone through our courses and Coaching has experienced a transformation in their lives having been put in a position to exploit all the great content within them. We have had people from Kenya and South Sudan taking the courses and Coaching.

Through Our Free Weekly Program Unleash Hour, we have spoken and shared on different topics for more than a year now. You can check out all we have discussed on our  YouTube channel.

Our pursuit has been to share content to help people with Personal Finance, Talent Management, Life Skills, and Entrepreneurship.

I have also been doing blogs on various topics on asenaville.blogspot.com

What challenges have you faced over the years and how are you overcoming them?

One of the greatest challenges has been with reaching out to prospective clients. Africans have not placed a premium on continuous self-education and improvement. People don't see value in buying books and taking courses.

I have used Social Media to share the word far and wide and it has brought returns in terms of generating interest. We still haven't figured everything out but we are pushing consistently.

What is your life's greatest lesson?

You must never stop learning. If you maintain a childlike curiosity, there is a lot for you to learn and you will always stay at the top of your game.

You must also be quick to adapt to change. There is a lot of change all the time. What you want to do is keep your values intact but remain open to different ways of expressing them.

What are your final thoughts on the Young Samuels out there?

Keep taking shots as you refine your skills at taking them. The results will follow. Be patient with yourself and trust the process. Seize every opportunity that comes your way and purpose to go back home at the end of the day having given your all.

Thank you, Pastor Samuel. It's been beautiful telling your story.
