The Value of Girl Child Education

It's not every day that we celebrate our fathers,
we are dedicating the next 20 days to our amazing fathers, all they are to us, the lessons they have passed onto us, and how they have shaped our destinies.

Our first-day special edition story is from Uganda and Ulala what a perfect way to end the month. Here we go.

"Coming from a family of 12 children, there are a lot of lessons I learned from my dad which are; being kind and empathetic to people by helping those in need, being the original version of myself but always preparing for situations that come along(strength), valuing my friends and family and make time for both.

But the most touching is he considered girl child education a priority. He used to tell us that girls are not only future mothers but also future leaders both on a community and national level. ‘Go for it because you can make it ladies’ he said.

This motivated me to look up to those who portray good leadership traits and also to encourage my fellow girls who encounter difficulties in getting a better education.
